    Frequently asked questions

The questions partners ask before they buy

Straight answers for the teams evaluating Chaperone — procurement, benefits, clinical, and compliance. How the model fits your population, how a deployment works, how we handle security and supervision, and where AI helps and where it does not.

    Fit & commercial model

    Whether Chaperone fits your population

How organizations buy Chaperone and make it available to the people they serve.

    Who it is for

    Which organizations does Chaperone serve?

Chaperone is sold to organizations that make it available to their members, employees, or communities: health plans, employers, government and public-sector programs, providers, community organizations, and education partners. See how the model maps to each on our Solutions pages.

    Commercial model

    How is Chaperone priced?

Pricing is scoped to your population and the deployment you choose, so it reflects the reach, configuration, and support model that fit your program. The fastest way to get a scoped estimate is to talk with our team about your goals and population size.

    Evidence

What evidence can I review before deciding?

Our Research & Outcomes page explains the evidence base and the measures we report with every deployment, and Case Studies document how partners deploy in the field. We report figures we can stand behind and label what we cannot yet verify.

    Scope of the model

Is peer support a substitute for clinical care?

No. Peer support is a trained, supervised relationship built on connection, encouragement, and practical navigation. It is not therapy, diagnosis, crisis counseling, or emergency care. When someone needs a clinician or a higher level of care, Chaperone helps route them to it rather than standing in for it.

    Deployment & implementation

    How a deployment comes together

What implementation looks like, and how the platform fits your existing workflows.

    Configuration

    How configurable is a deployment?

Highly. Each organization can match the model to its population and requirements: how people enter support, the channels offered, hours, escalation paths, and how it integrates with existing care. See the options on Configurable Deployments.

    Integration

How does it fit with our existing services?

Chaperone is designed to sit alongside what you already offer, reaching people earlier and routing them to the right next step, including warm handoffs into your covered services or care pathways. Our team scopes the integration approach with you during implementation.

    Reporting

What visibility do we get into the program?

Program administrators get oversight and reporting on the measures that matter, defined up front and reviewed before they are reported. See what operating at scale looks like on Admin & Reporting.

    Timeline

    How long does implementation take?

It depends on the deployment’s scope, the integrations involved, and your rollout plan. Our team works with you to define a realistic timeline and a launch plan sized to your population, rather than promising a one-size-fits-all date.

    Security, compliance & governance

What compliance and clinical teams need to confirm

The security, supervision, and governance questions your review teams want answered clearly.

    Privacy & HIPAA

    Is it private and HIPAA-informed?

Privacy is foundational. Chaperone is designed with a HIPAA-informed posture, role-based access, and clear limits on how information is used — not surveillance. Review the full approach to security, privacy, and governance in the Trust Center.

    Supervision

    Who oversees the Peer Coaches?

Peer Coaches are trained before they support anyone, follow clear protocols, and work within a supervised structure with experienced supervisors and escalation paths behind them. See how safety-sensitive moments are handled on Safety & Escalation.

    AI governance

    How is the AI governed?

Intelligent Guidance operates under defined guardrails: it assists the human team, its role is bounded, and its use is documented and reviewable. We do not use it to diagnose, to replace clinical judgment, or to act as the primary relationship. The detail is on AI Governance.

    Assurance

    What independent assurance is available?

Our security program and independent assurance posture are documented for review teams in the Trust Center, including our Security approach and SOC report. Talk with our team about documentation your procurement or compliance review requires.

Peer support is not therapy, clinical treatment, diagnosis, crisis counseling, or emergency care. Peer Coaches provide non-clinical support, practical navigation, encouragement, and connection.
